We believe buying a shed shouldn’t leave you feel lost throughout the process—or leave you questioning the quality of the finished product.
That’s why all our standard sheds are made from materials that others call “upgrades”. It’s also why whether you’d like to design on your own or talk to a Wagler team member, we’re there to answer questions—and make the design to delivery process as smooth as possible.
1. Design or Select
To start, you can select between pre-designed or customized sheds, cabins, self-storage units, greenhouses, or pavilions. (Pre-designed is best for those who want a quick, dependable solution).
If you’d like to personalize your building, try our 3D builder or talk to a Wagler dealer. You’ll receive a link on saved 3D designs and prices are honored for 30 days. (Customized is best for those who care about detail).
Can I Design Any Structure in 3D?
Our 3D builder is a great tool for designing sheds, barns, garages, cabins, pool houses, and bungalows. Contact your local dealer if you want to design a pavilion, gazebo, greenhouse, storage unit, or animal shelter.
Does Where I Live Matter?
Yes! Depending where you live, you might need to follow HOA guidelines (we’ll talk about this in the next step). Homeowners who don’t need HOA compliance have more flexibility with the style and type of their storage shed.

2. Permits & HOA
Paperwork shouldn’t slow down your project. Permit requirements and HOA guidelines vary from place to place, and while every homeowner handles their own approvals, our experience with builds across the region means we can point you in the right direction and help you feel confident about the steps ahead.
I Live in an HOA Community. Can I Build a Shed?
You can absolutely build an HOA-compliant shed as long as you stay within your communities guidelines. And don’t worry, we’re here to help. Before you start your 3D design, call us! If you’re buying a shed in-person, we’ll help you pick a shed or structure that fits the HOA requirements.
Are All Wagler Sheds HOA-Compliant?
Our Elite Series sheds are HOA-compliant. Look for the Elite Series emblem to find a shed that can fit within your community’s guidelines. Our Classic Series sheds are suited for rural areas.
Do I need To Do Site Prep for My Shed?
Yes, proper site prep ensures your shed doesn’t sink or the flooring doesn’t sag over time. We’ll give you all the insight you need before your shed is delivered!
3. Site Prep
A solid foundation makes all the difference. Before your shed arrives, we’ll provide clear instructions for preparing your site—from leveling the ground to choosing the best base material. Not sure where to start? Our team of trusted dealers can advise you on the right setup for your space, ensuring your shed sits strong, level, and ready for years of reliable use.
When Should I Start Site Prep?
After you’ve talked to your local Wagler dealer and placed your order, you can start site prep. If you’re replacing an old building and have a solid foundation already in-place, make sure your foundation has been professionally inspected and meets current permit requirements.
What Dimensions Should the Foundation Be?
Our Shed sizes vary, so there’s no standard size for the foundation. There are different foundation styles, so make sure to talk to your local Wagler dealer to choose a foundation that’s up to code and matches your shed’s aesthetics.
What if I have Questions?
It’s common to have questions at this stage, and since a solid foundation is key for your shed’s longevity, we’re here to help. Call your local dealer to find answers to all your questions and rest-assured you’re taking the right steps before your shed is delivered.
4. Delivery & Install
Once the foundation is in place, we’ll handle the rest. Our experienced delivery crew carefully transports and installs your shed, placing it exactly where you want it (providing the foundation is easily accessible).
We ensure your new building arrives safely and on time—so you can start using it right away.
Do I Need to Be On-site for Shed Installation?
You can absolutely be on-site if you want to be, but our team is qualified to install our sheds without supervision. If you have concerns, but can’t be on-site, call ahead to talk with us about the delivery process.
Can I Use My Shed Right Away?
Our sheds are completed before delivery, meaning you can start storing tools and equipment, start decorating, or move your pets into their new home. The beauty of our portable buildings is that they’re easy to install and ready to use immediately!
When Do I Pay for My Shed?
Whatever your budget, we have a payment option that fits. Pay outright with the balance due on or before delivery, or spread the cost out with a monthly payment plan.
